Message: “Disrupted At Christmas” from Jim Haskell
A message from the series “Advent 2024 Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” This is our last sermon in our sermon series, “Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? – The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” Could the interruptions and disruptions that blindside us this time of the year actually be the most important parts of Christmas and eventually bring us the most joy? That is what occurred in the lives of the three stargazing Magi at the Christmas event some 2000 years ago.
Message: “Sufficiency of Advent” from Darren Hughes
A message from the series “Advent 2024 Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” We continue our Advent season with the third message in our sermon series, “Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” Oftentimes the Advent Season gets lost in the business and stress of life. Does the meaning of Advent really fulfill a sufficient role in our lives, or could we benefit from seeing things in a different perspective? Paul gave the Galatians a new perspective on the Luke 2 story combining it with the law. Darren Hughes teaches from Galatians 4:1-7, “The Sufficiency of Advent,” and we will see how Christ is our Sufficient Advent Savior.

Jesus loves you! He willingly offered His life as a sacrifice and ransom for mankind. His victory over sin at the cross and over death is why we call Him Lord of lords and King of kings. We worship him as the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. God still wants to dwell with His people, and that includes you! If you want more information on what salvation means, please send a message or email us.
Message: “Trusting When Overwhelmed and Confused” from Jimmy Baughcum
A message from the series “Advent 2024 Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” We continue our Advent season with the second message in our sermon series, “Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” Dr. Jimmy Baughcum will be teaching from Matthew 1:18-25, “Trusting When Overwhelmed and Confused.” What do you do when you face uncertainty, confusion, and the overwhelming experiences and emotions of life? In Matthew 1, Joseph was confused, uncertain, and overwhelmed. We will take a look at Joseph and how he trusted through the uncomfortable realities in his journey.

Message: “The Birth of the Dragon Slayer” from Zach Morgan
A message from the series “Advent 2024 Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.” Advent is a very special time of year that sometimes gets lost in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Advent means “coming,” and on each of the four Sundays of Advent, we seek to prepare our hearts to experience anew the wonder and awe of what God has done for us in sending a Savior. Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and is a time to reflect on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in the world as it is today. It is a time to remember, through prayer, reflections, and special music, what the true meaning of Jesus’ birth is. The most significant tradition of the Advent season is the Advent Wreath. The wreath and candles are full of symbolism tied to the Christmas season. The wreath itself, which is made of various evergreens, signifies continuous life. The circle of the wreath, which has no beginning or end, symbolizes the eternity of God, the immortality of the soul, and the everlasting life we find in Christ. The candles also have their own special significance. The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent, and one candle is lit each Sunday. During our services on the four Sundays of Advent, our pastors will deliver a series of messages that will help us understand more fully the story of Christmas. Our series this year is “Should Christmas Soothe or Shake Us? The Uncomfortable Effects of Christmas.”

A message from the series “The Sermon on the Mount.” We enter the last few weeks of our Sermon on the Mount series as Pastor Jim presents an exposition of Matthew 7:7-12 entitled “The Order of Things.” We will look at how and why we request help from God is related to how we treat others. It is an interesting and important perception that Jesus taught on the side of the mountain that day.

We will discover that as we are tempted to live with worry over the future, trust in Jesus is greater than our anxiety. Trust > Anxiety
